Terms of service

These terms cover what swapl is, what it isn't, and what we each agree to when you use the service. By creating an account you agree to them.

What swapl is

swapl is a marketplace that helps homeowners find each other and exchange stays in their homes. We provide tools (listings, search, messaging, agreements, insurance) but we are not the host. The two members in a swap are the parties to the arrangement; swapl facilitates it.

Account & eligibility

You need to be 18+ and the legal occupant (owner or long-term tenant with permission to host) of any home you list. Provide accurate listing details — misrepresenting your home is grounds for removal.

Swaps & insurance

Every accepted swap is automatically covered by our underwriter for property damage, third-party liability, and trip interruption. Coverage attaches when both sides accept. Insurance is not a substitute for reasonable care — you remain responsible for following the partner's house rules.

Payments

The core swap is free forever. Optional Plus / Pro plans are billed by Stripe; cancel anytime from /account/billing. We do not take a commission on the swap itself.

Disputes

If something goes wrong during a swap, contact 24/7 support first. If a claim is needed, our insurer handles it. For disputes with swapl itself, Dutch law applies and the Amsterdam courts have jurisdiction.

Changes

We'll email you at least 30 days before any material change to these terms. Continued use after the change date means acceptance; you can always delete your account if you'd rather not continue.
